FTI Awarded OSD Phase I Contract for Linking Output Activity to Outcome/Impacts in Complex Contingency Environments
1/5/09
Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) has been awarded a research contract entitled Linking Output Activity to Outcome/Impacts in Complex Contingency Environments. The objective of this effort is to provide US Department of State, Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization (R/S) analysts and US Government Interagency partners with additional capability to conduct analyses and establish clear interdependencies between activities, tasks, and desired outcomes. It enhances their ability to measure progress associated with qualitative and quantitative metrics. Seasoned scholar practitioners will also support the refinement of the analysis framework and maximize synergy between task outputs to mission outcomes and impact to enable more effective R/S implementation planning.
The database and query structure that links missions, goals and tasks to expected outcomes is an analysis framework that could be applied across DoD organizations from U.S. Northern Command as they interact with civil authorities on Homeland Defense, to the Department of the Army as they evaluate data sets from events such as Multinational Experiment 4.
In parallel, the FTI Team will commercialize this planning aide by applying it to the Homeland Defense, DEA and corporations operating overseas. Large corporations conducting strategic planning overseas would benefit as well. As multi-national corporations continue to grow across borders from China to India, an automated framework to identify objectives and provide complete traceability to a board of directors or stock holders will increase confidence in progress toward strategic goals. |
