Database Engineer

Duties	Design, create, maintain, and administer databases in a client/server environment Integrate multiple systems into overarching database design Coordinate with senior engineers to project long-range requirements for database administration and design Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data Advise users on access to various client/server databases Design, implement, and maintain complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods Maintain database dictionaries and monitor standards and procedures May interface with customers during negotiations, acting as the domain expert May supervise others
Education	Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related technical area
Experience	Three years of database experience Six years experience in an IT position
Qualifications	Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with team members Project management experience preferred Database architecture experience a plus Must be a US citizen with the ability to maintain a government security clearance
