Software Designer/Application Architect

 
Duties
  • Assist in the definition of an application architecture  
  • Determine how technology can be applied to meet specific business needs  
  • Resolve high-level functional issues  
  • Work closely with business analysts in the development of functional and integration requirements specifications
  • Coach project teams in the design and development of application solutions following a standard software development lifecycle process (SDLC)  
  • Review, evaluate, and approve development artifacts including technical designs, code, and configurations  
  • Examine, evaluate, and provide usage guidelines for new technologies and/or third party packages
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field  
Experience
  • 8+ years of applicable work experience with at least 3 years of experience as an architect with the Microsoft .NET Architecture framework, including VB.NET and/or C#  
  • 5+ years of experience with OOA/D and application design patterns  
  • Extensive experience with design patterns, system architectural concepts, and frameworks  
  • Experience with web service technologies and standards such as WSDL, XML/XSD, WS-*, etc.  
  • Experience with team-based development  
Qualifications
  • Working understanding of Microsoft technologies and their capabilities, including .Net 3.5/+, SQL Server 2005+, WCF, WPF, and Silverlight
  • Ability to follow standard processes
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven strong innovative and analytical skills, with extensive implementation experience
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently to address multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
