| Duties |
Software engineering for an existing set of real-time, mission essential applications. Participate in lifecycle engineering of C++ based software applications. As part of the SW sustainment team, contribute to evolution of the SW architecture, design, development, and test on various UNIX-based platforms. Perform requirements analysis and engineering, develop preliminary and critical designs, implement proposed solutions, perform unit testing, and support the test engineer as needed on assigned software changes.
Must understand or quickly gain understanding of software/system issues and enhancements requested by customer/end users. Must independently develop solutions for issues and enhancements and adequately model and test those solutions using development lab assets. Must be able to defend developed solutions in review with internal system engineering team and then with customer and end user community. Developed solutions must maintain or improve the current sustainability/maintainability of existing architecture. Must consider and apply industry best practices and experience with configuration management/source code control systems. Must be able to work in a small team environment. |

Six years overall as a full-time professional:
-
C++ programming experience with preferred experience in CORBA, IRIX OS, Solaris OS, ClearCase, real-time systems, muti-threaded and multi-processor distributed applications, Perl, MATLAB, X Windows.

C++ SW development experience, Clear Case |
| Qualifications |
Must be willing and able to travel for SW deployment activities for periods up to four weeks, two to three times per year.
Minimum: Must be a US citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required; may be required to obtain an interim clearance within 6 months of document submittal. Relevant equivalent experience may apply | |
