SUBJECT: Use of the Integrated Desktop Analysis and Planning System for Concept Evaluation (ICE™) Tool

ASC/XR, under SBIR 95-200 (F33657-96-C-2077), spent $700,000 to develop the ICE™ tool to facilitate the expeditious estimating of a large number of proposed Modernization Planning Process (MPP) concepts. We further expanded the tool’s Operating and Support estimating capability via a $38,000 SBIR Phase III contract (F33657-98-C-2064). We are commencing a new round of MPP estimating and the ICE™ tool will be very useful in meeting a tight HQ ACC deadline.

ASC/LP is currently pursuing a modification to enhance their peculiar engine estimating requirements. We look forward to other organization’s taking action to further enhance the ICE™ tool’s capability.
