Frontier Technology, Inc.'s (FTI) Integrated Solutions Group has been awarded a contract by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
9/1/06
FTI will be involved with the EPA's Pilot Project to develop a long term viable Event Detection Software (EDS) tool that can provide
contaminate detection as part of the Water Sentinel Security Initiative.
FTI will deliver software licenses, software maintenance, and technical support services using FTI developed proprietary modeling
software adapted to monitor a set of standard water quality parameters measured by sensor stations placed in the distribution system
of a public water utility to detect anomalous events that may be indicative of possible contamination incidents.
"We are currently working a Prototype Water Quality Monitoring contract for the United States Air Force that is integrating a
standard System Architecture and our Event Detection Software for two significant California Water Districts so we are excited
to expand our development into this important EPA Water Security Initiative" says Curtiss Stahl, FTI's VP of the Integrated Solutions Group.
"It has been our vision early in the program to use our technology to assist the EPA with the development of a cost effective long term solution
to Event Detection within drinking water distribution systems." Initially, FTI will install the event detection software within EPA's Pilot
Project laboratory facility. The software will be tested during an evaluation phase beginning in late 2006 and extending up to a year and will ultimately
be tested at one or more pilot water utilities where the event detection software will monitor real time data obtained from water quality
sensors installed in the utility's distribution system.
