Frontier Technology, Inc. Wins US Army Product Assurance Contract
12/12/2006
Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI) announced award of a U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command Phase I SBIR research contract for Product
Assurance Readiness Decision Aide to its Decision Support Services business unit. The objective of this program is to demonstrate the
feasibility of a product assurance decision aide that supports the collection of manufacturing lessons learned and synthesizes product
assurance data into a “readiness level.” The decision aide also provides insight into “best-value” trade-offs, enabling program mangers
to confirm resources are being channeled into the most beneficial projects to the Army. This innovative approach will combine new data
collection methodologies with existing software technology, to build an effective decision support application. This system supports
Six Sigma transformation within the Army—driving acquisition teams towards higher performance via continuous process improvement.
Advanced technology and innovative processes that link new approaches with existing systems will be used to create a comprehensive,
Product Assurance Decision Aide. FTI has teamed with Dr. Fiorino of Advanced Product Transitions Corp. to leverage his previous experience
creating the Engineering Manufacturing Readiness Levels methodology. The combination of FTI’s breadth of experience in the automation of
DoD decision analysis and the depth of Dr. Fiorino’s manufacturing process insight result in a highly capable team poised to exceed Army expectations.
Frontier Technology, Inc. (FTI), a nation-wide small business with offices in Reston, VA, Dayton, OH, Beverly, MA, Colorado Springs, CO, and Santa Barbara, CA.
