The NormNet® tool is based on FTI’s patented Pattern Recognition of Health (PRoH®). It is data-derived technology that models normal system operations and predicts problems without requiring physical models or lists of failure modes. The NormNet® tool relies on data that is currently available; it does not need changes to your sensors, data sources or operational procedures. Using this data, the NormNet® tool creates models of normal operations that represent a healthy system.
System abnormal behaviors and future problems are identified by detecting small variances from normal system behavior in the values of the data and in the relationships among them. The technology was designed for the dynamic environment of a fighter aircraft. It can process input from multiple sensors sampled in real-time while detecting variances from expected performance as small as 2%. The NormNet® tool identifies abnormal system behaviors and forecast future failures well in advance of current threshold-based or static diagnostic systems.
